Abu Dhabi Media announced its coverage of His Excellency Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, when he headed a high-level delegation this coming Thursday. The coverage will span all the audio, video, visual, written and digital platforms of Abu Dhabi Media.

Abu Dhabi Media’s coverage of this historic visit comes as part of the company’s objectives to offer the highest standards of coverage to one of the UAE’s most important diplomatic moments in the year. The visit was covered through a variety of mediums, including live broadcasts over televisions and radio channels, and through special reports and interviews, which are to be released through the company’s bulletins and digital platforms.

Abu Dhabi TV Network

The Abu Dhabi TV Network produced a variety of exclusive programs and special reports for the visit of the President of the People’s Republic of China and his delegation. It broadcast live the most important stops during the visit, alongside producing special programs which shared a variety of political, economic and social aspects in addition to exclusive reports which have been overseen by a dedicated core team, alongside a vast network of reporters and analysts.

The network began its programming two days prior to the visit on Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 with the program, From China at 9:30pm UAE time on the ‘Abu Dhabi’ TV, and at 11pm on ‘Emarat TV, which discussed the political, economic and cultural relationship between the UAE and China.

The Abu Dhabi TV Network also broadcast a documentary titled Emirates and China: the Silk Road. The documentary, lasting 25 minutes, was broadcast on 21st July 2018, and focused on the nature of UAE-Chinese relations.

On Thursday July 19th, the Abu Dhabi TV Network released a special program which focused on UAE-China relations, titled UAE and China – Firm Roots and a Promising Future. The program used several exclusive reports covering economic, social and cultural aspects, in addition to various infographic that will display the most important figures. The program will also host prominent figures in politics and economics to discuss both historical and current relations that join the UAE and China.

The program will be airing on the Abu Dhabi channel and Emirates channel live from China t 1:00pm on Thursday July 19th, 1:00 pm on Friday July 20th and 1:00pm Saturday July 21st. It will also be broadcast live from Abu Dhabi at 9:30pm on Thursday July 19th, 10:00 am on Friday July 20th and 9:30 pm on Saturday July 21st.

Abu Dhabi Radio Network

The Abu Dhabi Radio Network will cover all news and latest updates regarding of the visit via hourly news bulletins and summaries. In addition, special reports regarding the visit will include the New Silk Road, or the Belt and Road Initiative, and a report of the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Centre for Teaching Arabic Language and Islamic Studies in Beijing.

The Abu Dhabi Radio Network also contacted the official Chinese radio channels to exchange news with them in Arabic.

The Abu Dhabi Radio Network exclusively airs Xi Jinping's audio book which presents the Chinese President’s diverse intellectualism, shedding light on his vision for China’s future.

Aletihad Newspaper

Aletihad Newspaper’s coverage began a week ahead of the historic visit by offering 5 - 8 pages daily to discuss the political, economic and cultural relations between the countries; mutual visits between leaders and coverage of the commercial non-oil sectors and tourism between the two countries. Additionally, they covered conversations with political, cultural, touristic, intellectual and economic figures, and the most important UAE monuments in China and the most important Chinese centers in the UAE.  

The newspaper also offered a weekly supplement of 12 pages, issued on the day of the visit on Thursday discussing visits between the two countries, air transport, Chinese culture and literature.
